Some Animal paintings
Here is a recent animal painting. I was commissioned to make it as a Christmas present. It is a deceased beloved pet of a friend of a friend. 18 x 24, acrylic. If you like this, I'm available for doing more, and my rates are quite reasonable!
Here is the famous Rumor! Done a few years ago when I was a nursing student, and ran out of all my wonderful expensive oil colors. I found myself devoid of paint, with only a tub of black acrylic and one of white acryic, and a bit of purple in a tube and some masonite boards. I did what I needed to do. AVAILABLE. 18 X 26. FRAMED. ACRYLIC ON MASONITE, $250
This is called Clown Horse, from the black and white horse series. I really loved expanding ideas within the limitation of black and white. My goal was to put a brushstroke down and just leave it there and accept it completely. AVAILABLE.
ACRYLIC ON PAPER, MOUNTED ON BOARD, UNFRAMED 22 X 22. $150
There are times for subtlety and there are those times when I want to bring on the brighter colors. These are Warren's cows. I got out an alizarin and some cadmiums and even added phalos (the horror!), and just played with those bright colors that I don't use often. Oil on canvas.
I love to go out and paint with other artists, as there's always something more to learn from others. From Bradley Fox I learned to use pink, a color I had always avoided like the plague. Sometimes even now I get out a tube of some sort of pink and just use it to see what happens. This is a goat, standing in a pink field. 8 x 10, oil on paper.
